Rimini is a beach resort with a Roman core: the Arch of Augustus, the Tiberius Bridge and the Malatesta temple sit within a 15-minute walk of the station, and the sand runs 15 km north–south from there. Two nights covers the old town and one beach day; three lets you add San Marino or Riccione. It is a working Italian seaside town, not a museum city, and the food is priced for Italian families rather than tour buses.

Get around
The old town and Marina Centro are walkable. Buses run from the railway station and cost €2 for a 60-minute ticket bought on board. METROMARE is a zero-emission bus rapid transit line linking Rimini and Riccione stations, daily, roughly every 25 minutes. Bikes are the local default: many hotels lend them and the station has a bike park with rental and repair. E-scooters from BIT Mobility and LIME work on a pay-per-minute app.

Scams and watch-outs
- Almost all beach is staked out by rented sunbeds; look for the free sections marked spiaggia libera, e.g. around plot 97 near Parco Murri.
- In winter the beach strip is shut and the Adriatic is cold; the town works, the resort does not.
- Rimini has bars with dance floors rather than full clubs; real clubbing means Riccione, about 15 minutes away.
- Check the Fellini Museum and Tempio Malatestiano hours before you go: they are limited and change.
Rimini is a normal, busy Italian resort and violent crime is rare. The real risks are pickpockets on the beach and in the station area, drink spiking in summer bars, and rip-off beach or bar bills: ask the total before you sit.
