Give Regina one full day, two if you add the RCMP Heritage Centre and a Wascana walk: it is a stop on the Trans-Canada, not a destination week.
Regina is Saskatchewan's capital, on the Trans-Canada Highway between Calgary (7 h) and Winnipeg (5 h). The sights cluster around Wascana Lake and the downtown grid, so a car is useful but not essential. Most travellers pass through in one or two nights; the city earns its stop with the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, the RCMP Heritage Centre and the legislative building. Winter is genuinely cold: plan indoor sights from November to March.

Get around
Downtown is a grid and walkable; Wascana Centre is a 15–25 min walk from the centre. Regina Transit covers the city but runs thin in the evening and on Sundays. Taxis (Capital Cabs, Regina Cabs) and Uber operate. A car helps for the RCMP Heritage Centre, big-box stores and day trips; Highway 1 and the half-ring Ring Road move you around the edges.
