Cedar Point is a 364-acre amusement park on a Lake Erie peninsula at Sandusky, Ohio, open since 1870 and running more than 70 rides, including 17 roller coasters. It is a theme park, not a hiking park: the walking is between rides, the 'trails' are the midways, and the main planning questions are ticket type, arrival time and queue strategy. Cedar Point Shores, the outdoor water park next door, needs its own ticket or a combined Ride and Slide pass.

- Most big coasters need 48 in (122 cm) or 52 in (132 cm); Raptor and Rougarou need 54 in (137 cm). Check the sign at each ride.
- Loose items
- Bags and phones are not allowed on the major coasters; use a locker or leave items with a non-rider.

- Same-day re-entry is normally allowed with a hand stamp or ticket scan (check at the gate).

What are the best 'hikes' in Cedar Point?
There are no hiking trails; the park is a peninsula of midways. The best walking routes are the loop from the Main Gate past GateKeeper to Millennium Force and Maverick at the back of the park, and the mile-long Lake Erie beach. Use the Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad or the Sky Ride to skip a stretch of walking.
When is the best time to visit Cedar Point?
May and September. May has the full ride lineup with short queues outside weekends, and September runs weekends only with the smallest crowds. Avoid July and August weekends, when waits on Millennium Force, Maverick and Valravn reach one to two hours.
Do I need Fast Lane?
Only on a Saturday or a peak July–August weekday. Fast Lane covers about 24 attractions and Fast Lane Plus adds GateKeeper, Maverick and Valravn; both are sold in limited numbers and cost more than the ticket itself.
