- The park itself never closes and costs nothing; only the museum rooms, the clock tower and Belgrade Zoo (inside the grounds) sell tickets.
- The site has changed hands between Roman, Byzantine, Serbian, Ottoman and Habsburg (Austrian) rulers over roughly two thousand years: expect layers, not one clean story.
- Ramparts have low walls and real drops; this is not a fenced viewpoint.
