Parc del Garraf is the arid limestone massif between Barcelona and Sitges: 12,376 hectares of karst, maquis and white pine, managed by the Diputació de Barcelona since 1986 as part of its Network of Natural Parks. There is no ticket gate and no entry fee — you walk in from a train station or a free car park. The park's value for a visitor is the walking: the GR 92 Sender del Mediterrani crosses it, La Morella at 593.6 m is the high point, and the ruins of Eramprunyà Castle, the abandoned hamlet of Jafre and the modernist La Pleta building sit on or beside the marked routes. The trade-off is exposure: almost no shade, thin soils, and a real summer fire risk that can close tracks and car parks at short notice.

How much does it cost to enter Parc del Garraf?
Nothing. There is no entry fee and no ticket gate; parking at the signed lots is free. You only pay if you join a guided activity, and many weekend walks run by the park information centres are free (check).
What are the best hikes in Parc del Garraf?
The La Morella summit loop (3–4 h) is the classic, and the GR 92 ridge walk from La Pleta to Garraf (4–5 h) is the best one-way option because both ends have a train station. Shorter: the SL-C 99 from Cal Ganxo to La Morella, and the walk up to Eramprunyà Castle.
When is the best time to visit Parc del Garraf?
March to May and October. October is the driest and clearest; July and August are too hot for the exposed limestone and carry the highest fire-risk closures.
Do I need a car?
No. The Renfe R2 Sud line stops at Castelldefels, Gavà, Garraf and Sitges, and marked paths run from each into the park. A car only helps for the inland trailheads at Begues and Olivella.
Is Parc del Garraf good for families?
Yes for short, low routes near the information centres and the Jafre car park. The summit paths are rocky and exposed, so they suit older children who can carry their own water.
Can I camp or sleep in the park?
No camping inside the park. Sleep in Sitges, Castelldefels, Begues or Olivella and walk or drive in for the day.
