Incheon is South Korea's third-largest city and home to Incheon International Airport, one of Asia's main hub airports. Its historic port area has Korea's only Chinatown, dating from an 1883 treaty port, next to a preserved Japanese colonial-era street; the newer Songdo district adds a planned waterfront business area. Most visitors see it as a stop before or after Seoul rather than a destination in itself.

- Incheon airport has two terminals connected by a shuttle bus that takes about 15–20 min: confirm which one your airline uses before you plan a tight transfer.
- Chinatown and the nearby murals get very crowded on weekends and public holidays.
- Songdo and the port area are spread out and not very walkable between sights: budget time for buses or taxis.
