This coastal park north of Adelaide protects tidal flats, samphire and mangroves along the East Asian–Australasian Flyway. Migratory shorebirds travel here from breeding grounds in the Northern Hemisphere. The park was proclaimed in 2016 and its Kaurna name, Winaityinaityi Pangkara, refers to a country for birds and the country around them. Visitor facilities are limited, so plan a self-drive visit rather than a full day of activities.
