Vũng Tàu is Saigon's seaside escape on a peninsula two hours away, with a giant hilltop Christ statue, a lighthouse, seafood restaurants and a long, plain back beach. Since 2025 it is part of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger with Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu (check).
