Radom
Skip Radom as a destination. Stop only if you are passing on the Warsaw–Kraków line, and then for 3–4 hours on foot, not a night.
Radom is Poland's second city in Mazowieckie by population (about 220,000) and one of its cheapest, but it has few sights and thin tourist infrastructure. Most travellers pass it on the Warsaw–Kraków rail corridor. Treat it as a half-day leg-stretch or a base only if you have family or business here.

Get around
The centre is walkable end to end in about 25 minutes. City buses (24 lines, single ticket 3.80 zł, validate on boarding) cover the outer districts; taxis and ride-hailing are cheap. A car only helps for the open-air museum and the airport.

Scams and watch-outs
- English is less common in shops and restaurants than in Warsaw or Kraków; have a translation app ready.
- The centre has a paid-parking zone Mon–Fri 08:00–16:00; pay at the meter or by phone.
- Radom-Sadków Airport has very few passenger flights: do not build a trip around it without checking.
- The Radom Air Show is biannual and was last held in 2018; confirm the next date before travelling for it.
Radom is generally safe by day; the centre is quiet at night and the area around the rail and bus stations is best avoided after dark. Standard big-city precautions apply.
