Quincy is a residential South Shore city of about 92,000 people, 20–30 minutes from downtown Boston on the MBTA Red Line. It is the birthplace of John Adams and John Quincy Adams, and the granite quarries here supplied the stone for much of Boston. Most visitors come for the Adams National Historical Park and the USS Salem, then return to Boston for the night.

Get around

The MBTA Red Line runs from Boston through North Quincy, Wollaston and Quincy Center to Braintree. Buses numbered in the 200s leave from Quincy Center. Most sights sit within walking distance of a Red Line stop, but the USS Salem and the quarries need a bus or a car.
