Provideniya is one of Russia's easternmost towns, population under 2,000, on the Bering Sea coast. It has a small museum, a national park visitor centre, and a café. Access is difficult: a weekly turboprop from Anadyr (April–October) or an expedition cruise. Border permits are required for all foreign visitors.
