Port Gibson is a small Claiborne County seat on US 61 and the Natchez Trace Parkway, about 61.5 mi west of Jackson. It is a stop, not a base: a compact Main/Market Street with 19th-century churches and civic buildings, plus Windsor Ruins and Grand Gulf Military Park a short drive out.
