Port Gamble is a preserved 1850s mill village on the Kitsap Peninsula: a few blocks of New England Victorian-style houses, a general store, a hilltop cemetery and Hood Canal shoreline, all walkable in an afternoon. It is a stop on the way to or from the Hood Canal Bridge or the Kingston ferry, not a base. Most travellers pair it with Kingston, Poulsbo or Hansville.
