Poovankurichi is a small hamlet in Tirunelveli district, 50 km west of Tirunelveli and 30 km from Tenkasi. It has no major sights of its own but sits near the Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Agasthiar Falls and several dams. Most travellers pass through on the way to Papanasam or Sivasailam.
