Give Pogradec 1–2 nights as a lake stop between Korçë and North Macedonia: swim, walk the 5 km promenade, eat Koran, skip if you want nightlife.
Pogradec sits on a narrow plain between mountains on the Albanian shore of Lake Ohrid, a UNESCO-listed lake shared with North Macedonia. It is a low-key summer resort: a long lakeside boulevard, sandy and pebbly beaches, cheap beds, and the Drilon springs 4 km east. Most travellers pass through on the Korçë–Ohrid route; one or two nights is enough, and the town works best in warm months when the water is swimmable.

The centre is walkable and the lakefront promenade runs about 5 km. Bicycles are the local habit and can be rented for a few hours. Taxis cover Drilon and Tushemisht cheaply; furgons and buses run to Korçë, Tirana and the border.
