Pitres
Pitres is a half-day stop in La Alpujarra: walk the village, shop the Friday market and eat a mountain lunch. One night if you want to hike the Poqueira Gorge or drive the high road to Trevélez.
Pitres is the administrative hub of La Tahá, a cluster of whitewashed Alpujarran villages in the Sierra Nevada foothills. It has a supermarket, bank, health centre and Friday market, but no major sights. Most travellers use it as a lunch or market stop on the Granada–Trevélez route, or as a quiet base for walking the Poqueira Gorge and visiting Pórtugos and Busquistar.
