Give Pingyang one full day for Nanji Island or South Yandang, or skip it: the county town itself is a 2-hour stop, not a base.
Pingyang is a county on Zhejiang's southern coast, part of Wenzhou prefecture and about 45 km from Wenzhou city. Its two towns, Kunyang and Aojiang, are ordinary Chinese county seats with a museum, a lake park and a Ming-Qing gate. The reason to come is outside them: the Nanji Islands in the East China Sea and South Yandang Mountain inland. Both need a full day and a transfer, so Pingyang works as a one-night stop on the Wenzhou–Fuzhou rail line rather than a destination in itself.
