Pingshan County, 50 km northwest of Shijiazhuang, draws day-trippers to the Xibaipo Memorial Museum (free, reserved online) and the Hongya Valley resort with the world's longest glass bridge. Hot springs at White Deer add an overnight option. The county has little else for foreign tourists.

Get around
Taxi or hired car is the only practical option for Xibaipo and Hongya Valley. Local buses run between the county town and Shijiazhuang but are slow.
