Phalaborwa
Use Phalaborwa for one night as a Kruger gate stop or an airport connection; there is no reason to stay longer unless you are on a golf or lodge package.
Phalaborwa is a small Limpopo town on the western edge of Kruger National Park, with its own gate into the park and a small airport with flights from Johannesburg. Almost everyone uses it as a one-night stop before or after a safari, or as a base for the Hans Merensky golf estate. The town itself has little sightseeing.
