Get around
The centre is small enough to walk: museum, kirk, galleries, both stations and the river are within 15 minutes of each other. Stagecoach runs local buses (the company is headquartered here) — bus 3 or 58 for Scone Palace, 15 or 23 along Crieff Road for McDiarmid Park. Taxis wait at the station, the Caledonian Cinema and near Tesco Metro on South Street. You do not need a car in town, but you do for rural Perthshire; hire desks cluster at Inveralmond, with Europcar on Glasgow Street near the station.
