Summer days in Perth commonly reach the mid-20s Celsius, with humid spells that feel several degrees warmer; evenings stay comfortable. This is the season for the Tay River, the walking trails and the heritage streets, and it is also when afternoon thunderstorms roll through. Carry a light rain shell rather than an umbrella that turns inside out.

Autumn is the most photogenic stretch: warm, dry days in September and early October, then a sharp drop in temperature after Thanksgiving. Foliage in the surrounding Lanark County hills usually peaks in the first half of October.

Winter is genuinely cold, with overnight lows well below freezing and snow cover that lasts. If you are driving from Ottawa or Toronto between November and March, winter tyres and a flexible schedule matter more than any packing decision.
