Pergamino
Half a day is enough: La Merced square, the riverbank walk, then move on. Sleep one night only if you want the weekend bars.
Pergamino is a farming and livestock city of about 114,000 people in north-east Buenos Aires Province, on the flat pampa 3 h by bus from Buenos Aires and 1 h 30 min from Rosario. Its draw is a compact historic centre around La Merced square plus a stream-side walk; most travellers pass through in half a day.
