Perdido Key is a narrow barrier island at Florida's far western tip, 20–30 min from Pensacola and a short drive from the Alabama line. It is a beach-and-bay place: sugar-white sand, Gulf Islands National Seashore at Johnson Beach, boat and fishing charters, and the Flora-Bama roadhouse at the state line. Get around
You need a car. Perdido Key Drive (SR 292) runs the length of the island and links it to Pensacola and, west, to Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Alabama. Parking at beach access points is limited in season; Johnson Beach charges per car.
