Peratallada
Sleep one night inside the walls, or come as a half-day stop from Begur or Pals: the village is small and the car parks fill by 11:00 in summer.
Peratallada is a fortified medieval village of carved stone, 22 km east of Girona and about 20 minutes from the Costa Brava beaches. Two hours cover the lanes, castle exterior, walls and moat; one night lets you see it after the day visitors leave. It is a base for the Empordà plain, not a beach town.
