Pembrokeshire is a 300-km coastline of cliffs, beaches and islands wrapped around a quiet inland of farms and standing stones. Almost all of it sits inside Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, and the 310-km Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs the whole edge. The coast is the reason to come; the towns are small and close together, so one base plus a car covers most of it in three or four days.

Pembrokeshire in a day from Cardiff or Swansea is 4–5 hours of driving for two or three stops.
Cliff paths are unfenced and the rock is loose in places; keep back from the edge and check tide times before beach walks.
Coasteering and kayaking need a booked operator and the right sea state; swell can cancel trips at short notice.
Summer accommodation in Tenby and St Davids sells out weeks ahead, and many places set a 2- or 3-night minimum in July and August.
