Argentine Patagonia is not one destination but a string of bases 500–2,000 km apart, split between the wet Andean west (lakes, glaciers, trekking) and the dry Atlantic east (steppe, penguins, whales). Distances are too long for a single loop on a short trip: pick one or two hubs and fly between them, then use buses only for the short hops. Most of the region is desert — under 200 mm of rain a year — so wind and sun, not rain, shape your days.
