Parrsboro
Go for one night, two if you want a full fossil-and-cliff day: the town is small, the tides set the schedule, and most sights sit on one road.
Parrsboro is a 1,200-person town on the Minas Basin, where the Bay of Fundy's highest tides twice a day expose red cliffs, tidal flats and fossils. The draw is geology and shore walking, not a city break: the Fundy Geological Museum, the Ottawa House museum, the Rock & Mineral Shop and the summer theatre fill a day, and Cape Chignecto or the Joggins cliffs fill another. Come between late May and mid-October, when the seasonal sights and restaurants are open.

Get around
A car is the practical choice: Main Street runs the length of town, but the museums, Partridge Island and Cape Chignecto are spread along Highway 2 and Highway 209. There is no town bus service. Walking works for the centre, the harbour and the theatre.
