Parauapebas

Parauapebas is a frontier mining town in Pará, born from the world's largest iron ore mine at Serra dos Carajás. It has a raw, pioneer feel and few tourist sights. Most travellers pass through for the mine tour or as a stop between Marabá and the Amazon. One night is enough; two if you also visit the Carajás National Forest.
