Paphos district is the island's west: a UNESCO-listed town, a wild peninsula and hill villages 20–40 minutes inland. Paphos town is the sleep base — mosaics, harbour and airport buses on foot. Add a car for one or two days to reach the Akamas coast, Avakas Gorge and the villages. Without a car you see the town and the bus-accessible coast only.
