Go only if you are hiking Akshayuk Pass or buying Inuit prints: 2 nights in town, longer if you cross the pass. No road in, no alcohol, no restaurant beyond a supermarket counter.
Pangnirtung is an Inuit hamlet of about 1,500 on Baffin Island, reached only by air from Iqaluit. It is the starting point for treks into Auyuittuq National Park and the Akshayuk Pass, and it has a working print shop and tapestry studio. The town itself is small: two day hikes, one arts centre, one place to eat. Treat it as a trailhead, not a resort.
