Palmetto Bay
Skip Palmetto Bay as a base: it's a quiet suburb with one major attraction (Zoo Miami) and a scenic drive. Use it as a half-day stop on the way to or from the Keys, or for a family day at the zoo.
Palmetto Bay is a residential suburb south of Miami, best known for Zoo Miami and the scenic Old Cutler Road. It has no real nightlife or walkable centre, and most visitors pass through on the way to the Florida Keys. The Deering Estate and Thalatta Estate add a cultural angle, but neither justifies a dedicated trip.
