Palanga is Lithuania's main seaside resort: a 420 m pier, a long sandy beach, one busy pedestrian street (J. Basanavičiaus g) and the Amber Museum in a 1890s palace. It is small, walkable and almost entirely domestic-tourist territory. Two nights covers it; a third only if you add Šventoji or Klaipėda.

Palanga is a low-crime resort town; the real risks are summer crowds on J. Basanavičius g, late-night bar fights, and cold-water shock if you swim far from the pier without a lifeguard nearby.
