Paju is a Gyeonggi city of about 415,000 people, 40–60 min northwest of Seoul on the Gyeongui-Jungang line. Its draw is the border belt — Odusan and Dora observatories, Camp Greaves, the DMZ — plus Heyri Art Village and two large outlet malls. Sights sit 20–40 min apart by bus or taxi, so a car or a taxi budget helps. Most travellers come for one full day; a single night makes the early observatory slots easier.

Get around
The Gyeongui-Jungang line links Seoul (via Digital Media City) to Geumchon, Paju and Munsan. Local buses 2 and 3 serve Geumchon; bus 2200 runs from Hapjeong in Seoul toward the Odusan observatory. Between the observatories, Heyri and the outlets, buses are slow and infrequent — budget for taxis or rent a car.
