Otepää is a 2,000-person hill town about 50 km south of Tartu, and Estonia's winter sports centre: cross-country trails, small alpine slopes, a ski-jump tower and a frozen lake for skating. In summer it is a quiet base for lake walks, the Town Hill castle ruins and the Leigo lake concerts.
