Osogbo is the Osun State capital and a Yoruba art town: indigo adire dyeing, woodcarving galleries and the UNESCO-listed Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove on the river just outside the centre. Sights are few and spread out, so one full day covers the core; the annual Osun-Osogbo festival in August is the reason to add a night. It works as a stop between Ibadan and Ile-Ife, not as a stand-alone destination.

Get around
Blue minibuses (korope) and motorcycle taxis (okada) are the main local transport and are cheap but crowded. For the grove and the gallery cluster, agree a private car or taxi for the day rather than chaining minibuses. Distances in town are short; traffic is heavy at rush hour.

Osogbo is calmer than Lagos but not a walk-anywhere city: check state-level advice first, use a car after dark, keep to lit streets around Oke-Fia, and treat the area by the train station as daytime-only.
