Okutama is a mountainous area at Tokyo's western edge, reachable by JR Ōme Line (≈1 ½ h, ¥1,080). Main attractions – Lake Okutama, Mount Mitake, Nippara Caves and Moegi‑no‑yu onsen – are within walking distance or a short bus ride from Oku‑Tama Station. One full day covers a hike to Mount Mitake and a dip in the onsen; a second day adds a lake walk or a longer summit trek.
