Okoboji
Okoboji is a summer lake town: go for 2–3 nights if you want boating, beaches and family resorts; skip if you don't have a car or prefer cities.
Okoboji is the hub of the Iowa Great Lakes, a chain of glacial lakes in northwest Iowa. The town itself is small (population ~800), but the area draws families for swimming, fishing, golf and watersports from June to August. Outside summer the pace is quiet and many businesses close. A car is essential.
