Nuoro
Nùgoro
Skip Nuoro unless you have a specific reason to visit Sardinia's interior: one night is enough for the museums and Ortobene mountain, but most travellers should spend their time on the coast.
Nuoro is the capital of Sardinia's mountainous interior, a quiet provincial town with a good art museum, a cathedral and a mountain topped by a Christ statue. It has no beach and limited nightlife. Most visitors use it as a base for exploring the Barbagia region or as a stop between the coasts.
