Go only if you want the EU's northernmost road end, Teno salmon water or the Norway border run: 1–2 nights, car required, no through traffic.
Nuorgam is a 200-person village at the top of Finland and the EU, on the Teno river that forms the Norwegian border. There is no airport, no train and no real town: you come by car for salmon fishing, midnight sun, winter twilight, the Kaldoaivi wilderness or Norwegian-side errands. Two nights is enough unless you fish.

- Teno salmon fishing is strictly licensed and gear must be disinfected; check current season rules before you travel.
- No ATM, no hospital and no 24 h fuel in the village: fill up and take cash in Utsjoki or Norway.
- Winter twilight runs 26 Nov – 16 Jan with no sunrise; plan driving in daylight and expect snowmobile traffic.
- Mobile coverage is patchy in Kaldoaivi; tell someone your route before hiking.
Very low crime; the real risks are distance, weather and isolation. Fuel up, carry a paper map, and treat winter driving and river ice as serious.
