Nuenen
Go for a half-day Van Gogh walk from Eindhoven, not as a base: 2–3 hours on foot, bus 121/122 from Eindhoven in about 20 min.
Nuenen is a town of about 22,000 people just east of Eindhoven, in North Brabant. Vincent van Gogh lived and worked here from December 1883 to November 1885 and painted The Potato Eaters here. The old core is small: a triangular square called De Berg and the 19th-century park beside it. Most visitors come for a half-day, walking the Van Gogh locations and the two mills, then return to Eindhoven.
