- Mild all year, almost no rain; sea fog (camanchaca) in winter mornings. Water is cold for swimming.

- The altiplano rainy season (Jan–Feb) can block highland roads; desert nights drop below freezing in winter (Jun–Aug). UV is extreme year-round.
