Its draw is the Gold Coast: Old Westbury Gardens, Sands Point Preserve, the Nassau County Museum of Art and Cedarmere. Sights sit 5–15 km apart on Northern Boulevard and Route 25A, so a car or a rideshare budget matters more than a hotel choice. The LIRR Port Washington and Main lines reach Manhattan in 35–50 min.

Get around
A car is the practical choice: sights are spread along Northern Boulevard (Route 25A) and the parkways, and buses are slow. The LIRR Port Washington branch and Main Line link the town to Manhattan; the Oyster Bay branch runs less often. Port Washington has a public bike-share system. Rideshares work but surge at commuter hours.
