Noord-Beveland is a former island in Zeeland, now joined to Walcheren by a causeway and to Schouwen-Duiveland by the Oosterscheldekering. - The Oosterscheldekering is an open, exposed dam: no shade, no shelter in a storm.
Very safe. The real risks are coastal wind and cold water, unlit dyke roads at night, and strong currents in the Oosterschelde: swim only at supervised spots and check tide and wind before any watersport.
