Nigeria's international arrivals concentrate on two airports. Lagos (LOS) handles the most long-haul traffic and sits closest to Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki and the southwest. Abuja (ABV) is the capital's airport and the better door for central and northern Nigeria. A handful of other cities — Port Harcourt, Kano, Enugu, Calabar — see limited international service, mostly regional; treat those as connections through Lagos or Abuja rather than direct options.
From either airport, the practical question is the transfer. Lagos traffic is the single biggest variable in your first day: the ride to Victoria Island or Lekki can take 40 minutes or several hours depending on the time of day. Land in daylight if you can, and arrange the car before you fly. Abuja is calmer; the run to the centre is about 40 minutes.
