Newark is a small industrial and residential city in the East Bay, fully surrounded by Fremont and about 20 miles from both Oakland (OAK) and San Jose (SJC) airports. It has no walkable centre and few sights of its own, but it is a practical, cheaper bed base for Fremont, the Dumbarton Bridge and the Peninsula, and it sits on AC Transit with BART one town away.
