Neiwan
內灣
Half-day trip from Hsinchu or Taipei: walk the old street, eat zongzi, and hike Valentine Valley. Not worth an overnight.
Neiwan is a former mining town in Hsinchu County that revived as a tourist stop thanks to its preserved old street, the slow Neiwan Line train, and the surrounding mountain trails. The main street fills with day-trippers on weekends, but the town is small enough to see in 2–3 hours. Most visitors come from Hsinchu or Taipei for the morning or afternoon.
