Nea Kallikratia
Half a day to one night: walk the seafront, eat fresh fish, then continue to Kassandra or Sithonia. Not a base for the whole trip.
Nea Kallikratia is a coastal town 35 km southeast of Thessaloniki, on the neck of the Chalkidiki peninsula. It has a long sandy beach, a fish market and a handful of tavernas, but no major sights. Most travellers pass through on the way to Kassandra or Sithonia, stopping for a swim and a meal. The nearby archaeological site of ancient Antigonia is the only cultural draw.
