Naperville is a large Chicago suburb on the BNSF Metra line, about 35–45 min from Union Station. Its draw is a compact, walkable downtown: the brick Riverwalk along the DuPage River, the 160 ft Moser Tower carillon, the Naper Settlement history village and Centennial Beach. It is a good half-day or one-night add-on to a Chicago trip, not a destination on its own.

Get around
Downtown is walkable; park in the Central Parking Facility near Washington and Chicago Ave. Metra BNSF line runs hourly to Chicago Union Station and west to Aurora. Amtrak's Southwest Chief, California Zephyr and Illinois Service routes also call at Naperville Station, 105 E. Fourth Ave. A car helps for anything outside downtown.
