Namur
Give Namur one full day plus a night: climb the Citadel in the morning, old town and museums after lunch, then move on toward Dinant or the Ardennes.
Namur is the capital of Wallonia, sitting where the Sambre meets the Meuse about 60 km south-east of Brussels. The Citadel above the confluence is the reason most people come, and the compact old town below it fills the rest of a day. Trains from Brussels take about 50 minutes, so it works as a day trip, but one night lets you eat in town and catch an early train toward Dinant or Luxembourg.

Get around
The centre is walkable; cobbled ramps lead up to the Citadel and a cable car runs from Place Maurice Servais to the esplanade. TEC buses cover Jambes and the outer districts; buy at a kiosk or from the driver for a little more. Pro Velo and Blue Bike rent bikes near the station, but cobbles limit how far you will want to ride.
