Namchi
Namchi is a quiet, local alternative to Gangtok: one night is enough to see the giant Guru Padmasambhava statue, Solophok temple and the monastery.
Namchi, the capital of South Sikkim, sits at 1,675 m and offers a calmer experience than Gangtok. Its main draws are the 118-foot statue of Guru Padmasambhava, the Char Dham temple complex at Solophok, and the Namchi Monastery. Most visitors cover the sights in one day and stay one night.
